A true gem, the food is always prepared consistently well & is far above average. The staff is extremely attentive and approachable. Drinks are very well mixed. McMenamin’s is just the best.
Great place in a great area. Super friendly people. Good food and drinks.
This bar is excellent. Their food is delicious, especially the beef stew. The bartenders are really nice and learn your face quickly. This is my go to place for food.
Great neighborhood tavern. Nice choice of beers and bar food. Always busy and interesting people to meet.
The food was delicious and the prices were good!
Best fish and chips I've ever had!
Food was delicious. Service was great. Fun atmosphere. Super quick, too. Highly recommend.
Good service and atmosphere. Had a beer and talked all night. No nagging from waitresses. Cool spot
Good drinks and good service, just watch out for the best swinging doors.
Really good neighborhood bar. Excellent food and service. The diversity of the crowd was really nice. Will be back
I find McMenamin's a great place safe as well. The foidn drinks..great. The service is very pleasant.. I would be going again.
Favorite neighborhood (former neighborhood for me) place, with good food and good beers on tap
Anyone who scores this place lower than 5 stars is either not a mount airy resident or hasn’t been here more than once.
The beer and the service were just off-the-charts great. The food was as horrible as the rest was good. I still ate it I guess I was hungry. It's a very diverse crowd no one particular group hung out here. I think most people would be comfortable here.
The bar is cozy and the atmosphere is very laid back. The food is also good and the service is quick. It's a good place for a cold drink and a quick bite if you're solo or with a small group and don't want to fight a crowd for the bartender's attention.
My favorite local pubI always anticipate the great selection of beer and ciders! The wings are delicious, but the veggie burger was AWESOME!!
Always great food. Great staff and atmosphere.
Neighborhood spot with a game always on the TV. Food is good, not pretentious. Busy, so getting a seat is a little tricky in the evenings. Chill, older crowd with a family here or their enjoying dinner. Waiters and bar tenders are really nice.
Great beer list, great food - their wings are LEGENDARY in Mount Airy - and a crowd that is so friendly and diverse that it's a picture of how the world should be.
Love, love, love this place! Have never had a bad meal. Great dinner and lunch specials. Awesome beer selection in bottles and draft. Great local hangout and place to watch sporting events esp. Philly sports!11/14/19. Yet again, a stellar meal, great beer, great people. Cornmeal crusted trout. Delicious. You cant lose with this place. Keep it up, PJ!
I always enjoy the food here! The service is great! You will most likely have a wait since it is always crowded. It's a bar so not the best choice for a quiet, intimate dinner but a great place to meet friends, have drinks and dinner.
Ordered a club sandwich bread was super hard but I changed my bread once I made it home food was delicious. My husband's bread was also too hard. But the food was great.
Great atmosphere and food!
Inside ambiance is a little rough. Sit OUTSIDE seriously. We had the outdoor seating to ourselves! Large menu. Happy to accommodate substitutions. Vegetarian options. Desserts are HUGE. Prices super reasonable for the large portions. Beer on tap. And the only mechanical dartboard I've ever seen in my life.
It's a cool neighborhood bar. Caters to the Mt. Airy, Chestnut Hill patrons. Drinks can be a bit expensive. Food is delicious, with the portions on the large size. One of the Bartenders did not seem as though he wanted to be there. He never made eye contact with me and my guest to take our first drink order. We had to get his attention by flagging him over. Afterwards, he never asked if we wanted a refill. In fact he left the bar area all together and went to the seating area to do other things. Finally, another Bartender Claire comes over to refill us. It's a cool, quick, safe place to hang out, have a drink, play a game of darts, chat with the locals, and eat some good food.
The food was good. They have a nice beer selection and the place is a little small inside. You can eat outside and it's covered. That was a pleasant surprise. The staff are really friendly and accommodating.
Always on point, nice neighborhood spot and great food and service... Like a local Cheers place...luv it here!!
Great neighborhood place. Staff is the best.
Very popular neighborhood pub. The burgers a great. The beer selection is very good. It's just a very comfortable Neighborhood Place. It's worth going to and you could tell the people who were there we're very happy to be there. I think the staff actually like working there too.
Great pub with quite an interesting beer list. heard the food was really good, the menu goes beyond the usual pub fare
A true, friendly neighborhood pub offering a solid, quickly changing lineup of craft beers, standard pub fare, and delicious lunch and daily dinner specials. The fact that it's usually crowded 7 nights a week should be a solid indicator that this neighborhood staple is doing things right. Fantastic spot for Eagles games as well!
I have been to McMenamin’s countless times and my experience is consistently the same: good beer, good food, horrible service. Waiters and waitresses are always rude and unfriendly. I rarely feel welcome here, which is a shame.
Great for lunch the jerk wings were tasty and I would recommend them
Great wings, great beer. Local neighborhood gem in Philly!
Good food. Fast service. Reasonably priced
The best turkey burgers in Philly!
A quaint bar in the Chestnut hill area. Great food (I love their fries)! The staff is amazing. Everytime I go, it's like visiting a relatives house (especially since the waitress remembers my order), it's a chill spot to kick back and hang with friends, family or coworkers.
Place was packed but still was able to keep the beers flowing!!
Good neighborhood vibe. A little above average priced drinks and food. Great business and overall a dope chill spot.
Nothing better on a Friday night then to get a cold beer and a order of fish and chips
This is the Mt. Airy Neighborhood bar. The inside looks just like a small/medium sized neighborhood sports bar. But you won't find a frozen industrial menu. The food is high quality and made in house. There is an excellent beer list. The staff is terrific.
I had the fish and chips. OMG! The fish was well seasoned and they give you plenty of food. The staff was very friendly, its a small, cozy, laid back adult atmosphere. I will definitely be back again and again.
Food was great!Service was great!A must go.
Reasonable for food/drinks. Food was good. Good atmosphere. I’ve lived in the neighborhood for a long time and this was my first time here.
Fun atmosphere for an Eagles football win. Great food. I had the chicken tenders with a special sauce. Irish stew is good too, as are the ginormous burgers. Lots of tasty gluten free recipes on the menu. Great beers on tap with locals and seasonal favorites. (I secretly call it McManliman's). Good spot. Service was fast and friendly.
When I lived in Mt.Airy this was my go to place. So I was in town this past week stop in to get fish and chips my daughter had shrimps. My fish was burnt and my daughter's shrimp were burnt and spicy. The drinks and staff were great.
Perfect combination of bar, food and diverse cool clientele
Classic Mt Airy "dive" bar. Can get really crowded at times. Service was good. Food's not bad either.
My vote for best local bar in Philly. I’ve loved this bar since I went to college 15yrs ago. Now that I’ve moved away I still visit whenever I’m back in Philly (which is 1 or 2x times a year). The food is among the best bar food you’ll ever eat. The wings are crispy and the buffalo sauce is delicious. The burgers are great...love the spicy fries too. Even the salads are good. The beer list is what got me interested in this place back in college...it’s a long chalk board filled with solid rotating choices. The owner knows his beers. The owner is also a great human being interested in patrons. I’ll visit this place for as long as he owns it. (For added craziness fun...visit during a Birds game...just be prepared for a packed house)
Great food and service, convenient parking.
